He prayed for his mother and, knowing that the Lord had answered Bob's prayers for healing in others, he asked Bob to pray for her. Shortly afterwards, he received word that some nurses walked into her room and found her out of her bed and moving about the room They were amazed. Her recovery then moved along rapidly, and she went home soon after. A few months later Fr. Austin was in Nigeria and walking with his mother to a scheduled follow-up medical visit. A man said he came seeking healing for his sister and it happened to him. He said he had "pretty bad" arthritis in both shoulders and had a fall three months ago that had injured his right shoulder. A nurse with Hepatitis C for over three years had taken medications with no result. All blood tests for liver enzymes were very elevated indicating severe loss of normal liver tissue. After the MHS at St Thomas More, she asked for her blood tests to be repeated, despite her doctor telling her it was futile. This time the liver enzymes were "absolutely normal". One year later she said that the liver enzymes remain normal, which was interpreted as either a new functioning liver had formed or, less likely, old liver cells began to work. However some Hepatic C viruses were found in her blood. At that later time there was a brand new treatment that doctors gave her and all viruses disappeared.
